Time resetting on hard boot

My Optiplex 9010 keeps resetting the date and time on Windows 7 every time I plug it out and in again. No, this isnt due to a faulty CMOS battery as the PC was bought brand new recently

The CMOS is a little bit of RAM that stores all the BIOS information so that each time the computer restarts or powers on, the computer can remember this information.

Just replace CMOS battery and all will be good

But if you sure that isn't CMOS battery you can try to change some value in BIOS and if it is reset at the same time as the date then it is 100% problem with battery

Even a brand new PC could have a CMOS battery which has dropped below the required voltage (3 volts), so new battery is still worth a try before you can confidently rule that out. Don't assume anything, prove it.
