I am basically looking for a laptop for work (combination of word processing and running huuuuuuge queries on MS access) and moderate gaming (e.g., diablo 3). There are three main features I'm looking for.
1. Longevity of performance -- I'm looking for something that will not slow down significantly within a year, as laptops tend to do.
2. Powerful processor -- Sometimes I will have to run 30+ queries a day on massive MS access databases. These queries can take forever on slower computers.
3. 32 gigs of ram
It appears that my best option is the new macbook pro. I don't really have a budget ceiling but I'd rather not spend $4k if I don't have to. So I suppose my real question is whether anyone knows of a cheaper computer for my needs.
