so I'm thinking about my first build.
i want to play all sorts of games on it at least with high graphics.
GPU that I was planning to get is GTX1050 TI.
the amount of money i am willing to spend for the CPU is around 200€
I am wondering what processor should I get, first I was thinking about some sort of i5 variant but then i noticed AMD ryzen CPUs. and now I'm wondering, is AMD any better? are there any drawbacks between these 2 brands? id like to get myself an i5, maybe even buy myself an used one.

what do you guys think? any advice is welcome!

Well Intel is still ahead of AMD but AMD is also making really good cpu's lately. I'd prefer Intel.

If you plan on playing games on high settings I suggest the newest intel cpu's. Get a intel i5 8400. You would need a motherboard with a b360 chipset. And DDR4 RAM memory.

Also, if you have the money, get at least a gtx 1060.

If you get a 2nd Gen Ryzen you will enjoy it. In many cases AMD is jumping ahead of Intel. Gaming has been a weakness but even there I believe the G models are tweaked for games. The Intel chips are good as well but you need to go with a high level chip if you want to overclock. All Ryzen in all generations are unlocked for overclocking.
