not even sure how to ask. know nothing about these types of devices. here it is. built this life size model of a guy on a dirt bike in mid air. the buyer wants it to have a motion-activated sound card. you get within range a revving engine starts sounding. how would I do that with a laptop, what would I need to buy.....card, amplifier maybe? thanks

What you're trying to achieve is simple task. You just need recordable sound chip with speaker and motion detection.

Though, for life-sized sculpture, that small sound chip and speaker may not have enough volume level to make it sound realistic since those are made for gift cards. To get realistic sound, the concept is same, but on bigger scale.
