How to know if the M.2 slot in my laptop is SATA or NVME (PCIE)?

And if it's a SATA can I use a Nvme ssd on it and vice versa?

No they are the same. Unless it says SATA or PCIE near the slot somewhere that I cant see there is no way to tell by looking at the connector. The manual can be found online just google the model number. Orr post the model number and I will find it.

Thanks for your reply Dunlop0078 but I don't have access to the manual (it's my friend's laptop and he lost the manual) , is there any way tell if it's PCIE or SATA by looking at the connector (http://i64.tinypic.com/2lmrwnl.jpg) ?
