Hi , im sure this has been asked a thousand times xD , im going to buy a new pc in the beginning of the 2019. Which cpu would be better for me if i had to choose between ryzen 2700/2700x or intel i7 8700/8700k. I never overclock but i know that in ryzen the 2700x does give better performance than the 2700 out of the box from what i have seen.

I pretty much only play games and i stream typical games that like for example rainbowsixsiege/pubg/csgo/gta v and so on.

This has been asked far more than 1000 times. You will probably find 1000 different answers too. This is my generic response to this question.

The 8700k is better for strictly gaming, the 2700 is better if you do CPU intensive tasks other than gaming. For playing and streaming a game at the same time on the same system, the 2700 may do a bit better depending on the game and the software and settings you are using to stream.

thank you for the reply so i should go for 2700 instead of even the 2700x i have money for both :) ?

As sizzling says, wait until October as the new 9th gen Intel CPU's are coming out and the 9900K is a 8 core 16 thread monster and should be pretty amazing provided the price is right...As you are not buying until 2019, just wait for the reviews coming out soon.

...the discussion is far from pointless but I agree if some of the newer options are on the table for the OP then they should be discussed. New parts mean discounted old ones ;)

Seems completely pointless to me. The point is to work out what to buy in at least 3-4 months time. Even with price changes what we recommend today could be different to what we recommend in 3-4 months. Then add in another generation of cpu's coming from Intel will very likely change what we recommend by the time of purchasing.

As for discounted parts, maybe a little but the 7700k has held it's price very well and so have prior generations. When you look at 8th gen vs 7th the 8600k is equal or slightly ahead of 7700k which also mixes up prices.

yup i will keep a look out for the intels new cpus , but if the prices are too high by the time im going to buy then ill most likely go for the ryzen 2700x which is gonna be way cheaper for me and i can spend more cash on my other parts.

Thanks for the help everyone , have a great saturday :D '

Greetings from Sweden.
