Hi guys , i have a old dude called I7 2600k and a girl called Asus Sabertooth P67 :) , well all fine till i start playing WOW , again.... and checked that in some fights i get so much low fps....

Ok that is the story and then i think , wtf go ask for opinions to buy new stuff , then some dudes in the forum say to me " WTF DUDE you have a beast, OC that dude... put it on 5.0 or 4.8 and raise that fps ... " ok....
Then i put my hands and fingers on google and start reading then i put my 2600k with 4.5ghz and 1.32 v , but in prime get reboot so i put 4.8ghz and 1.44 v , and till now he dont reboot and im playing WOW with a lot MOREEEEEEEEE fps :) ...

Ok i go let prime running during the night and see if he shutdown , if shutdown i will need help....
Raise to 1.5 is safe? Read in a lot of places that mrface guide included that not recommend more that 1.5 so what options i will have if this reboot at 1.41v on 4.8 ...

BTW i have Corsair Hydro 80i V2 so if want me to try 5.0 just shoot the setup :) ...

Thanks , sorry for some errors in grama im a portugues trying to get help .

Solution
Depends on the chip. But dont push above 1.4v You are pretty good with that overclock if you are not stable at 4.8 then lower it to 4.7 you still have good fps boost

provided that you aren't thermal throttling and are staying away from 90c then sure, go for it. But i don't think that cooler can cool down that CPU at that voltage. Use AIDA64 CPU & FPU only and/or intelburntest standard preset for stability testing. The maximum recommended voltage for that CPU is 1.375v. Try and keep it around that.
