Hello all,

I am currently planning on purchasing a CPU, motherboard, and memory bundle to upgrade my gaming computer. My question is this: how important are motherboards for gaming? My current computer only has a Thimphu motherboard. Would this be holding back the rest of my computer? I have a particular bundle in mind which comes with this motherboard:

https://www.asus.com/uk/Motherboards/ROG-STRIX-Z370-F-GAMING/

And these are the specs for my current Thimphu motherboard:

Would this be a good upgrade from my old Thimphu, or are motherboards not that important for PC gaming?

Thanks for your help!

First of all 6th or 7th generation cpu's are NOT compatible with 300 series boards.
Secondly. A motherboard does not impact gaming performance in any way unless it limits a component in some way. Which your current one does not.

I presume the motherboard that comes in this bundle would be compatible with the cpu that also comes with this bundle:

That works but you can get better value.
