I have an old white xbox 360 controller that I want to use for my pc gaming. It is a wireless controller that I have wired to the computer and the computer recognizes it and says it has the latest drivers installed. The lights on the controller all just blink and it won't work with any games. I have updated drivers and reinstalled them. Any ideas?

Solution
Are you able to verify that that adapter is working?

Maybe try it on another computer or see if you can borrow the same adapter from a family member or friend and test the borrowed adapter on your compute.

Unfortunately, Xbox 360 wireless controllers do not send data over USB. The cable is only used for charging. I went through this struggle with my two wireless controllers and decided to spend $15 on an "Xbox 360 Wireless Receiver" through Kijiji. This solution worked without a hitch! If you plan to go this route, there are plenty guides for the setup process :)
