This question has been answered millions of times but still I can't decide.

Do I have to keep the same brand with same specs or I can just look for same parameters (Mhz, DDR3, CL9...) but use a different brand? My current RAM sticks that I use are out of stock in every shop here.

The best case would obviously be to use the exact same one(s) as the one(s) you already have.

Although you can mix RAM brands and/or models, however I recommend you use the same Frequency (Mhz). Also, note that it is not possible to mix DDR3 RAM with DDR4 Ram. Different timings (is not an issue, but you will have to set all the RAMs to the slowest timing between all of them.

Thanks for answering, I think I'll try adding a different brand with identical specs .. I'm hoping that will work.

Thats what worries me the most, that it will have problems, crashes etc.. Still don't know if I should buy different brand

Wolfshdw said it best. Just make sure you can return it if it doesn' work.

Where are you based?

Newegg are still selling new Ripjaws CL9s. Bought a set of 2x 8GB the other week shipped to Australia. Pc stores here only selling generic brands and with stamp duty included was still cheaper going Newegg and better ram.

They have other sizes as well still available.

I checked amazon, yes there are exactly the same RAM sticks as I need but the shipping fee is unreal (30$) to my country. I dont know I will probably have to try and just buy different brand from my local shops.
