I've been getting random BSOD lately saying a SATA driver failed, cache problem, and the random "service exception". The newest one I got was "Page Fault in Nonpaged Area". I did a disc check, and scanned for corrupted files and I was good there. I don't have any updates, and all the drivers are working properly. I decided to re-seat my ram and i noticed something I hadn't noticed before. On the label, it says for Gen6 i5/7. I Have a z170 board but with a 7700k. Would this really cause instability?
I don't know if this would affect anything, but my 7700k is overclocked to 5.1ghz @1.38v.

This is the ram I have: https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820233864&cm_re=corsair_vengeance_lpx_16gb_3000mhz-_-20-233-864-_-Product

And this is the motherboard I have: https://www.gigabyte.com/us/Motherboard/GA-Z170X-Gaming-7-rev-10#ov

Solution
Try lowering your CPU OC.If the CPU OC isn't stable it will cause the BSOD and memory issues. The CPU asks the MCC for bytes, the MCC gets the bytes from the RAM for the CPU. If your RAM is compatible with your rig then there could be communication issues from the CPU to your RAM due to your OC. After dropping your CPU's Ghz run a stress test and see if it the issues persists. Get it down to about 4.7ghz and if it still persists then we gotta look elsewhere.
you are running a 7th gen CPU on a motherboard originally designed for 6th gen CPU's which are supported so that is a non issue. if this is not a first run problem then if it is the ram that is causing it then it is defective but it is always best to get ram that is listed on the motherboard's QVL list
