hi ,
i decided to switch my Headphone from front panel to back panel , front panel was working good including mic of course .

i switched to back panel but :

- Audio worked just fine
- Mic Didn't work in the Back panel

Note : I Have Windows 10 1803 - 64 bit


MY PC SPECS :

Windows 10 1803 - 64 BIT
INTEL PENTIUM G630 2.7GHZ 2 Cores
8GB RAM DDR3
DELL OPTIPLEX 390 MOTHERBOARD / Note : BIOS VERSION IS A02
320GB HDD Hitachi
NVIDIA GTX 650 GDDR5 1GB

Well, external USB connected/powered sound card would do but internal PCI-E based sound card would give you far better audio quality. But since sound cards are niche market only used by audiophiles and i'm not an audiophile, i can't say which sound card (internal or external) would be the best one to go for.

i did maked the microphone set to default but not working .
a thing i noticed is that the green light is not showing and leveling up

The level bar rises once you speak into the mic.

As far as why it may not work, my best guess is that on the MoBo's back I/O panel, you have different 3.5mm jack than you have at the front I/O of your PC case. Older 3.5mm jacks had single purpose, either send sound (headphone jack) or receive sound (mic jack). Newer 3.5mm jacks can both send and receive sound inside the same jack.

This is especially true when on the MoBo's back I/O panel, you have dedicated 3.5mm jack for headphones (usually colored lime green) and for mic (usually colored pink). If this is the case, you'll need this splitter cable (or similar) as well if you want to use your headset at the MoBo's back I/O panel,

i can confirm that the Sound Jack is colored Green and the Microphone Jack is Colored Pink

The Sound Jack is plugged to green and the sound is working ,
The mic jack is plugged to the pink but it's not working , i tried to unplug the sound jack and keep only the microphone jack to see if it works but it didnt .

I highly doubt that it would be software issue within your OS since if it were, your mic wouldn't work in the front I/O panel jack either. And since you have fairly old MoBo in use, it wouldn't be a wonder that some of it's features have degraded up to the point of failure. To confirm that, plug the known to be work mic (other than your headset) to the mic port on your MoBo and look if it works or not.

no no i want to clarify The Mic and the sound jack it's working in my front panel i have a different panel in the front of my pc not related with motherboard but i wanted to use it in the rear panel wich is the DELL optiplex Panel of the Motherboard like in the picture of Motherboard :

And like i said to you, most likely the mic port on the back of your MoBo is broken due to the old age of your MoBo. To test that, use second, known to work microphone, other that the one included with your headphones.

If something is broken, no matter how badly you "want" it to work, it isn't going to work, until it's either fixed or replaced.

i did tried a known to work microphone but it doesn't work too , is there any suggestions how i can fix that problem ? because the front panel of my computer isn't stable aswell , i heard of external sound card via usb , is it good ?
