Hello just wondering if i should have bought a b350 motherboard instead of a a320. Because i have a ryzen cpu it uses higher ram frequency and im thinking of buying b350 so i can oc both cpu and ram to get better performance. Is it worth it?
Thanks

Solution
A320 officially supports 2133 - 3200 DDR4 ram, some may or may not support 3000, it might end up as 2933 instead, depends entirely on the mobo. So getting 2933/3000 out of that 2133 isn't an issue for the board it's entirely an issue with the ram. It may or may not OC that high and be stable, it might only get to 2600. Only way to find out is to try it, but I'd definitely go for looser timings, like 16-18-18-38 1T at 3000 and do overnight memtest64 checks.

I was able to OC my Patriot Viper 2133 to 3000 (4GBx2), no problem. No voltage adjustment either and it runs stable. On a Ryzen 1600 at stock, Gigabyte DS3H B350 (x370 chipset).

I'm not sure if an A320 will have as good amount of support OC'ing ram. You can give it a try, just go up small amounts and test to for stability.

Yeah a320 doesn't oc anything so thats why i was thinking of getting b350 so i can oc both cpu and ram. I am also a noob at oc so i don't know what timings to set the ram to when i oc it.
Thanks for the reply

16-18-18-38 is what my 2400 C14 had to do to get 3200, but I think OP has 2133 C15. So I would think it would require more than C16 to get to 3000.

*I let auto-timings adjust; not manually set.

I just double checked my timings on my OCd to 3200 and it's now 17-20-20-41; that's kind of scary. Could it be degrading? My system did freeze the other day and I had to hard reset. Gee.. I think I need to create my own thread for this.
