Slow wifi problem

So I am currently using a ac1900 usb wifi adapter on my pc and getting quite slow speeds. I can only connect to the 2.4 GHz network (the 5 GHz keeps reconnecting and disconnecting, probably because it's too far away from the router). Was just wondering if making a secondary router as a wifi adapter would be a better option.
And if yes, would I get better speeds if the secondary router was used as an adapter or a wifi extender?

how far are you from the router, what is getting in the way?

Can you adjust the PC orientation.

Can you adjust the antenna pattern on router and or NIC.

If you use a secondary AP (router in AP mode) then you are still going to have the wireless dead spot issue.

Can you connect the secondary to the primary by cable backbone?
If you connect to your secondary via cable you may move it closer and get 5GHz backbone between the two routers.

Note if you connect the AP to the router on the 5GHz channel, the AP will not be able to use the 5GHZ channel to serve your PC.

So unless you can get one link via cable, you are not going to achieve much by adding an AP.

You should try to reposition your router or your PC.

My adapter is about 30 feet away if its unobstructed and about 24 feet obstructed by a wall to the router.
If i could i would move my system closer to the router or vice versa, but that's the problem, i can't.

What way do i adjust the antenna?
I could connect the two router via a cat cable but how does that help though?
Do I connect the AP to the pc or the primary router?

I've heard that wifi boosters can end up being more problematic than solving the problem, some of them being sudden drop (or fluctuation) in connection speeds. I could spend more on a high end booster but not sure if it's worth it.

I could get a cat 7 or 8 if i want but the problem is I need to run a really long cable, probably 15m at least.
