Hello. I'm between two motherboards models, Gigabyte H370 AORUS Gaming 3 WiFi and ASUS ROG STRIX H370-F GAMING, and I don't know which one to pick.

I have a Core i5 8400, Crucial Ballistic 8GBx2 SR 2666Mhz, EVO 860 1TB, GTX 1070 Ti, Corsair PSU 520W. Due to processor model, OC is locked and also RAM speed limited to 2666Mhz.

I'm looking mostly for a gaming rig, but also plan to mining while I'm not playing to get a few bucks. So, system would be running a lot of time, maybe several days in row. I would like a long lasting system, for at least 6 years. Which motherboards seems more reliable, long lasting, for gaming/mining/working 24/7?

Solution
It doesn't matter. Those boards are more alike then they are different. In terms of reliability your i5 8400 is not going to put a significant load on the VRM of either of those boards and the VRM's are both similar in terms of quality and phase count. In terms of features again they are very similar, the Gigabyte board has more lights on everything if you are into that and has built built in wifi card. Besides that I see no good reason to recommend one over the other.

Are you sure mining is profitable at the moment with a single 1070 ti? You might spend more in electricity than you make from mining, not sure.

I'm not into lights. For me I just power lights off. And for me electricity is almost free, so mining have some profit.

Meaning someone else will foot the bill.

I do pay my electricity bills, but they are as low as just few cents of dollar per month
