I want to add a new fan to my laptop (I don't care about losing warranty ) and my idea is to use an splitter connector as the desktop pcs have. i don't want to connect the new fant to an USB port, an other option is to use de SATA power port (i have a slim SATA connection) but i don't know how to connect the 4 pin fan to this SATA port.

If you search LAPTOP FAN DRIVE in google you'll see optical drives that have fans on them, so finally this fans are connected to a SATA port, how can i do that?

How could i do this? Any idea?

USB ports provide 5v power only and will require you to solder wires to the connector where it contacts the motherbd.

You do have a 3rd option of splicing into an existing fans wires but this should be handled by someone familiar with working and soldering electronics lest you find yourself buying a new laptop.
