Hello everyone,
Before i start let me say this is my prefer build and it has worked for 5 years. I love the simplicity and many of you may no understand it. I am looking for advice from guys who get it and really understand CPU and Heat-sinks and Bios.
I just upgraded my rig from a Asus Hero 8 and i5 and Asus Strix 97 with 16gb Corsair DDR4 3000 ram to this -
Asus Hero 10 with wi-fi, i7-8700k CPU and Asus Strix 1070ti 8mb and upgraded ram by adding 16 more mb of Corsaid Vengence DDR4 3000.
here is the kicker. MY rigs is 100% fan less, no water cooling, no fans, no crap. It bothers me how rigs have grown to have massive amounts of fans and water coolers over the years. Say it is still quiet, but you know it is not. MY rig is 100% fan-less. Zero noise. Not to mention i won't have to open my rigs for 3 years. Who else can say that, you will always have fans going out that need to be replaced.
So here is what i use I use the NO FAN ICE PIPE technology, a large copper and nickle plated heat sink for your CPU with 160 liquid filled pips that take the heat and dissipate it upwards. It has worked perfectly for 3 years and still worked with my new upgraded rig. I can play any games you play and have no issues. Now i know i am not doing any overclocking. But i can if i wish to.
Here is where i need help guys and gals please - I have been doing this, love Asus and thier bios. Easy to use. To make this rig work i had to go into the bios and disable all references to fans, since there are none. Once i do this, everything works fine. But i know i may be missing some setting in bios i can use to help my CPU out, to help it run cooler. Can anyone here help me out with what those settings would be? I want to make this rig very efficient. And working the bios with the right twerks can do that.

Also, i am using the NO FAN 500W silent PSU in case you need to know that. I am running no other components, MB, GPU, CPU, 2 Samsung Pro SSD's, and a Blue ray burner. I am running Windows 10 home version

I appreciate the help and advice.

All I did for my fanless R5 2600 was to disable fan speed monitoring in BIOS.

I see that you don't have a fan less GPU. So when you start playing games, you will get noise.
I use a fan less 1050Ti because I hated the 1070 spinning up in games.

Your big problem is that heat will build up in your case. Your choices are to get a case that is a giant heat sink or have an open case where natural currents remove heat.

Can you run a stress test (prime95) without heat throttling?

I run a quiet Noctua case fan to remove my heat rather than have an open case.

The biggest problem that I found with fanless was that other noise in the house became a problem. I would also get hysteresis noise as components would heat up (quiet tick as metal expands).

Have a look at this site for further ideas.

??? What are you talking about? First off i am using the NO FAN CS-80 recommended case, it has many open spots and is made especially to help dissipate the heat. So that is no issue and never has been. I am using a stealth ASUS 1070ti Geforce GPU and most times the fans are not even on. When they do some on playing a graphic intense game like Fortnite or COD i hear nothing, nothing at all. My case, my rig is silent, no ticks or clicks from metal? Nothing. All i was asking for was someone who knows bios well and if there are any bios setting i can use to help keep my CPU cooler. And no, i will not be shutting off the 6 cores multi thing.
I hate it when in these forum people feel free to give feedback and information that is useless and don't even answer the questions. Believe me, i have been running FAN LESS rigs for 5 years now, i know how, i know what they can and cannot do. Just asking for bios help.
