Hello! I'm currently living in Europe and have a hefty gaming pc that I would like to take with me to Canada when I'm moving next month. I don't want to ship it I would like to take the parts in my carry on case. I want to know if its safe to remove each part and buy a case there and set it up when I get to Canada, but I know the wattage is different. Would I need to buy a different pcu? Would my pc still work? Is it worth take all my parts (Hard disk, Hard drive, Ram, Graphics Card, Motherboard, etc)...? What should I do?

Solution
Yes, you can buy a power supply in Canada. I recommend Seasonic brand power supplies. Don't go cheap on your power supply. It is the foundation of a stable build.

Thank you for the quick reply, but I know that also the plugs are different, would I need to buy a different cable? And I'm not 100% sure what my voltage frequency is but I can check it tomorrow.

Yes, if the specs handle the different voltage and frequency, then you just buy a "local" power cord. The input to PC power supplies is an IEC standard connection.

Would any power supply work for my pc if I buy it in Canada? And what power supply would you recommend? Thank you so much for your help as well!
