I have an Asus M4A785TM motherboard which has onboard VIA VT1708S soundcard.
After installing windows 8, I installed the latest drivers and Via HD VDeck.
VDeck refuses to start (installed in windows 7 compatibility mode)
Sound works fine from 3.5mm port in the back, but when I plug in headphones it switches over.
The windows sound doesn't have any option for headphones or front jack. It has 2 Digital audio S/PDIF. I tried using multiple installers with no luck.
P.S. I had managed this once before, I used to get a popup every time windows started from a VIA software, but can't for the life of me remember or find which one I had used.
