wondering if I didn't put enough liquid metal onto die or maybe didn't get the gasket put back together good enough for IHS? First delid by the way, so if I am forgetting something let me know. I used very very little LM, just enough to cover die in thin layer.

really didn't see difference in performance and not much difference in temperature. in time spy extreme scored 3526 at 81c after delid, 3517 at 90c before delid.

9 degrees seems underwhelming. Was expecting like 20 degrees and a nice little performance boost with no thermal throttle. Used conductonaut for die to IHS and thermal grizzly paste for IHS to heatsink.

Should I just try to re-do it?

I recently did my 8700K and got very impressive results around 15 to 20 Degrees C. I was terrified but it worked out very well.

I put Thermal Grizzly LM on the die in a super thin layer but I also put LM on the IHS to match the die by taping of the area to the size of the die and applying LM there as well, again with a super thin layer....

I then just removed the old Silocone from the IHS only as I was to scared to take it of the die but added a tiny bit of new silicone to the four corners of the IHS...

That seemed to work for me..

stock it holds at 90c just under 4.5GHz. it'll comfortably stay at 4.5GHz now.
