Hi. Let me start off by saying I am not an IT expert or anything, so please explain simply:

I have an xfinity gateway router/modem, three access points, and a switch that I want to set up. I do not want to bridge the xfinity router because I want to still be able to connect to it and use the WiFi from it. Thanks for your help, and if you need more specific info just let me know!

Solution
You plug your AP into the switch and it all just works more or less.

There is no way to recommend much else since things like the distances between ap and the number of end station you plan to connect to each can vary greatly. There are many many other variable that must be considered

The solution must be customized to your needs. You likely will be better served to hire someone to design it for you. People can answer questions on this forum but teaching you wifi design is not something that can be accomplished on a forum post.
