Black screen while gaming

I'm using a Gtx 770 evga sc. This issue only happens while playing Ark Survival Evolved. Between 10-20min the screen goes black saying no signal. Its not a hard freeze because I had YouTube open in background once and it was still playing fine even loading a video after the one playing. I have tried old and new drivers even checking temps and never saw anything over 73c CPU never goes past 57c

Does the issue occur for any other game? If not, it could be game specific-perhaps try verifying your game files (right click on game in steam, properties, local files, verify game integrity cache)

I have only seen this problem happen with Ark Survival Evolved and I have tried to verifying the game even fresh installing it and it still happens.

Other games I have played and tried have been GTA V with graphic overhauls to make it look better, Fallout 4, Farcry 4, World Of Warcraft, 7 Days To Die, Elder Scrolls Online and a few others and none of these have had a problem yet.

Well if thats the case I'd say its game specific. I would be searching the game's forums for any info on how to resolve it.

I put out a post on the Ark forums on steam and heard back today for a guy who had a similar issue as me and said what fixed it for him was a fresh OS install. Do you know if that sort of thing could be a issue with somethings like this?

I personally haven't dealt with Ark at all so I can't make an informed decision. With that said though if a clean OS reinstall was to solve an issue it would mean that there is something else amiss, a bigger problem all together, and I imagine it'd affect other games as well. Being that you can game with no issues other than when trying to play ark I can't see how a clean windows install would help. If you got the time though, and can be bothered I guess you can give it a go- depends on how desperate you are to play that particular game as well

I've tried to change a few things around and did another scan. This time I'm not going to try to join a server but just load a singleplayer game and see if that changes anything. If it comes down to it I guess I'll try to fresh install the OS. As of now playing the game is not a big issue but that game will be having a expansion added to it later this year I'd like to check out since it's already paid for.

Thought I had it fixed but after I left a empty area and started to explore the same issue happened.

So I ended up wiping the drives and that seemed to have fixed the black screen. I do have fps drops but that could be drivers and what not even just the game itself. Seems like it's all fixed now
