A few days ago my PC was running perfectly, then Windows 10 forced me to do an update and then the good times ensued. After the update completed Windows wouldn't allow me to get past the login screen, I would login and it would just bounce back to the login. So I reinstalled Windows 10 just like it was before, ran the same update and it installed fine. Once I started using my computer after the update I noticed my fans would go full throttle any time I did pretty much anything, open a file explorer window and the temp jumps to about 50°C and the fans go full speed, sometimes it just does it spontaneously. My idle is currently about 30°C,which was pretty normal even before the update but I never saw jumps in the temp, especially not up to or over 50°C. I opened my case up and cleaned any dust but it hasn't remedied the problem whatsoever. I was thinking it may have been Windows but I tried Ubuntu and it does the same, and even does it at the UEFI Bios. My next step would be to reseat my CPU cooling block and replace the thermal paste but the paste should be fine, it's only just over a year old and I also would need to go out and buy new paste. I'm hoping it isn't too serious, I haven't had any crashes or shutdowns, but my computers speed has slightly reduced and it gets hung up on processes fairly frequently. Any help or suggestions would be great!
