My ethernet connection has been bad since ~3 months and shows no signs of improvement

So basically one day out of nowhere, my connection, which used to be 75 mbps dropped down to about 5. Since then it has just gotten worse and on some days it doesnt work at all, while on my phone there are absolutely no issues (wireless). It is a PC so I don't have an option to use WiFi on here. Does anyone know what the issue is?
Whenever I dont have internet anymore the troubleshooter says the cable is damaged, however at around midday it works just fine.

1. Nothing stops you from adding WIFI to desktop.
2. Suspect NIC that needs w10-specific driver from Mobo vendor, not (automatic update?) from Microsoft.

cable sounds probable, loose or broken wire in the socket. l had only one of two telephone wires attached properly and the web still worked. kind of. sometimes.
could also be the router going. check it for usage stats and error counts, connectivity drops, etc. it should have a log file.

You were right! All it took was a cable replacement. :)
