Hey guys, At the moment I'm Rolling With an i5 4690k. My friend Gave me his old AM4 Motherboard, But I haven't Used it at all since DDR4 Ram is really expensive. But lately I've been considering making the leap, Would you say its worth the jump right now or should I save for a 2070 instead? I only use the PC for gaming, So any Boost in performance outside of that is Irrelevant to me.

If you dont mind tunning some visual things down a bit to obtain 60 fps then go for Ryzen build with a 2600X/2700X or if you dont wanna wait anymore get a 2070 (or 1080 if the price is better) and after that build your ryzen PC, if you go this route your cpu will hold you back in some games but in some it will work perfectly.
I personally would go with the ryzen first then buy a new videocard but this is just my personal opinion.

I mean, depends on which Ryzen you get. If you have the motherboard I mean, save some money and go Ryzen, z370 boards aren't the cheapest ATM, even though they are more powerful with the processors they can possess.

If your mobo is capable of oc, i would try getting more out the cpu. A high clocking 4 core cpu should be good enough to use for gaming atm.

Also Ryzen 3000 series is arriving next year and most likely will be a decent upgrade from it's predecessors.
