is the ryzen first generation is value for money?

Solution
2nd gen Ryzen isn't that much more expensive if it's for both gaming and editing and you haven't purchased it yet the 2nd gen would be the more powerful choice. first gen Ryzen is excellent as well don't get me wrong I have the 1600 and it's great, if ' had the choice i'd get the 2nd gen

You'd be better served if you stated your budget and use case (what programs and uses you need to run - gaming, video editing etc) and what the rest of the configuration is.
So far the prices seen, I'd go for Ryzen 2nd gen, but if you get a good discount, Ryzen 1xxx are not bad at all. Again, depends on what you want to do with that PC, TH members can provide better recommendations. Generally for gaming, the Intel Core series are better within the same price range. Once you get to higher resolution, the GPU becomes more crucial, and frame rates won't improve with a better CPU because it's the GPU that's reached the limit.
