My Asus Poseidon 1080 Ti idles at 52°c and hits 84°c on load just using out-of-the box settings. I'm using a Lian-Li Dynamic 011 case which is spacious and has 3 fans taking in cool air from the side, the CPU fans exhaust out of the top, and there are no other components under the GPU to obstruct airflow. I believe the card is advertised on the back of the box as having much lower temperatures on air than I'm getting and every video and forum post I've seen describes the card getting much lower temps also - in the region of 38°c at idle and 75°c on load.

Have I got a dodgy card and if so what can I do about it? Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

For anyone who comes across this problem I've found the fault. The cold plate is not sitting flush against the GPU becasue of a manufacturing flaw that is resolved by lifting the corner of the card up when it's installed in a case. You'll see the temperatures drop by 10°c and they will also level off and become more stable. Absolutely unacceptable trash from Asus here, expensive rot. I just hope I can get a refund for this.
