Can i use dye based black in for canon pixma g3010? Originally the printer comes with pigment based black ink. Anyone please enlighten me. Thank you.

Solution
Not recommended.

The printheads are designed for specific inks. Using anything else is likely to cause poor printing at best and clogged printheads at worst.

No argument from me that the manufacturer's ink pricing is outrageous.

However, if you do not use the recommended inks then things will end badly and you may even lose any warranty protection.

Use the recommended inks.

Also avoid refilling/refilled cartridges and 3rd party ink vendors. Very likely to be low quality.

Canon Pixma G3010 comes with pigment-based black ink and so, dye-based black ink cannot be used on it. The printheads are designed for use with specific inks. If you use other inks (not recommended for use in your printer), the printheads get damaged, resulting in poor print quality. Also, the printer’s warranty will also be affected. Avoid refilling the ink cartridges on your own and do not purchase cartridges from local vendors.
