Can I use a 2400RAM kit on my Asus Z97-A like plug and play? or do I need to do something else?

CPU: i7-4790k default
GPU: MSI 1060 Gaming X 6GB
PSU: 750W Gold
MOBO: ASUS Z97-A

If needed OC on my CPU HOW DO I EVEN DO THAT?

Please help!

It may be just plug and play. If it doesn't detect it at the proper speed you may have to enable XMP profile in your BIOS.

I run 16gb DDR 3 2400 on my i7 4930k. I previously had DDR 3 1600. Honestly, I didn't see an increase on performance. I'm sure it would show up in benchmarks but in real-world use haven't noticed it at all.
