Hello!

So my 2 tb HDD is feeling really slow lately and I've been itching to join the SSD cool kids club for a while. The only thing is that ssds are super pricey and I am not paying $350+ to replace my 2tb hard drive.
So I originally wanted just Windows 10 on the SSD but everyone said to get a ~250 gb ssd because I guess that I'll want to put more on it later or something. (lemme know if you agree or disagree w/ 250gb because I don't really know)

But here's the thing, I'm not really sure how to move only Windows 10 to an ssd without deleting the almost 2 terabytes of games, programs, and files I have on my hard drive.
I just need to know what to do and where to start

P.S. I still have my Win 10 installer USB and the product key if that helps

~Thanks

As far as I am aware - you cannot clone just the operating system. If you had space on the drive - you could partition and move all your files to the partition separate from the system then clone the partition with system on it which is how I remember doing it. But your drive is completely full making this a conundrum.. In any case for the SSD a fresh install would probably be better. As long as the motherboard is still the same - you could use your installer product key and it should work with the new install. Best of luck.

P.S. Here's a reference to a similar thread essentially asking the same question. People have researched a way to do this with no hits in the past. I would be very surprised if there was a way to do what you're...

As above, there is no application or functionality to move "only Windows 10 " to a different drive.
Many seek such a function, but sadly, it does not exist.
