2 Pin fan molex to 4 pin psu molex

Hello,

I beleive there are a thousand threads dealing with this topic, and I did read a lot of those, however I could not find the answer to my question.

The cooler master case Q300P I have comes with two front RGB fans.
Front fans are connected to an RGB controller. That RGB controller has a 2 pin Molex connector, that should connect to a PSU molex.
However, the PSU molex connector has 4 entries (for 4 pins).
I understand I do not want the RGB controller Molex connector to have 4 pins, as being plugged to both 12V and 5V would fry it and/or my fans.
But how do I know what PSU molex connector holes they need to connect to ? Do I want the 5V to be connected ? The 12V ? And even if I knew that, how do I know which is the 5V wire and which is the 12V one ?
Or maybe that RGB controller molex connector can only be plugged on way in the PSU molex connector anyway ?

Thanks a lot for your help,
Cheers !

IF the connector on the end of the cable from your fan speed controller module is the same size and shape as a normal 4-pin Molex male (with pins) connector, but has only 2 pins in it, do not worry. Look closely at the connector. It is rectangular, but on one long edge the two corners are beveled, whereas on the other side they are square. That way there is only ONE way to plug it into the female output connector from the PSU. So it will ONLY make the right connections for you.

Oh right, thanks a lot for your help.
The thing is I haven't received my PSU yet. So, well, also I guessed I would understand better once cables would be in my hands, I was eager to find out before, so I could order an adapter or something before I even receive my PSU.
But I presume I will see what you mean once I have the cable with me, if shapes or obvious enough :D

Thanks again,
Cheers !
