So i've got a Gigabyte GA-H81M-S1 motherboard. Due to reasons unknown it seems that my in built network controller isn't working or responding, therefore no network is being detected on my system, though my Wi-Fi works fine.

So i've been recommended to buy and install an add-on Ethernet adapter. I'm no tech savvy guy so i've come here to ask you guys for a good recommendation for a Ethernet adapter which is compatible for my motherboard and is there any additional drivers i have to install for the adapter?

if its any use here are the rest of my specs:
My specs:
Intel i7 4790K 4GHz
8GB DDR3 RAM
Nvidia GTX 1060 3GB GPU
Gigabyte GA-H81M-S1 motherboard.
corsair VS550 PSU

Thank you in advance.

gigabit ethernet card i.e. network interface card. yes you need the one with pcie x1 interface. after you install it you will see that the os will wither load drivers that it has or will ask for drivers that come with the card.
