RAM overclock help

Solution
okay, you're getting way too far ahead of yourself.

It's ddr2400 rated. You need to take it slow and manage expectations. If the manufacturer wanted you to OC those DIMMS to 2800mhz, do you think they would sell it rated at 2400? No, and the reason is simple, it probably won't do 2800 even with a voltage bump.

That's not to say that it's not possible, just unlikely.

I've a similar set of 2400mhz Crucial DIMMS I've managed 2733, but with very loose timings. I've bumped the voltage to 1.25v and it passes memtest for 4 passes (good enough for short term testing).

All memory settings are on auto except voltage and speed. All timings are auto to be loose, and give the best chance of booting, and running okay at the speed. My DIMMS have...

My DIMMS have gone from being CL15 (cas latency) to CL17 as a result. Lower CL means higher bandwidth (CL15 is better than CL17), and this is at the expense of higher frequency (in my case 2733). It's a trade off. Lower CL is actually better than higher speed in most cases.

Instead of 2800, I think 2666 should be enough (?).

The thing is, I've seen that Ryzen CPUs perform better with the help of faster RAMs. That's why I'm interested in boosting my memory.

My CPU is Ryzen 1200 overclocked at 3.8GHz.
