Ryzen 5 2400G as a CPU

Hello all!

I am a casual gamer, looking to build my first gaming PC.
I wont be doing that much gaming right now, nor do i care about high/max 1080p gaming, so I feel the iGPU in the 2400g will suit my needs.
However, when i do decide to throw in a GPU (a couple months from now atleast), will the 2400g hold up as a decent CPU?
I know most games don't make use of the full four cores in this generation. or so I've read.
But besides the gaming aspect, I don't do any photo/video editing or rendering, however i do some coding for Software Engineering and was wondering if the 4C/8T will last me a couple years down the line, as I want to avoid having to sell the 2400g to upgrade CPU.

It's fine as a CPU. However, the main reason to pick it over another Ryzen 5, such as a 1600/2600, is that it has the Vega graphics. If you know for a fact you're going to add a videocard then you remove the advantage of getting the 2400g. As long as you understand that and are okay with it, then it'll suit you.

Try to get fast memory, it's important for the Vega graphics. 2 sticks of 2933 at least is what you want.
