What make and model devices are you trying to connect with the extension cable?

One reason being that there are differing standards with respect to the TS, TRS, TRRS pinouts; i.e., CTIA, OMTP.

TRRS overlaps "Sleeve 1st Ring" with TRS "Sleeve"
