Hey guys,

I am looking for a SSD to addition to my 1TB HDD, I am hopping to get faster boot times (as it's currently about 2 minutes), faster load times on games and just better system responsiveness in general.

I have a ASUS A58M-K Motherboard and a quite outdated AMD x4 860k CPU and I have a budget of up to 120euros and I would like to get a SSD with at least 500gb of storage capacity.

But I am not sure what SSD I should get and as I understand I cannot get a NVMe SSD because of my motherboard, and from what I heard NVMe has quite large performance advantage over SATA and the only way I could get a NVMe SSD is if I bought a new motherboard and a CPU, which with my current financial situation would be feasible only after about a year.

So the real question for me is, is the NVMe performance advantage larger enough over the SATA performance that I should just suffer about one more year with the horrible HDD (I use the computer for about 42 hours a week) or is the performance difference minor enough that I should just get a SATA 3 SSD immediately.

And if it is the latter, then what SATA SSD should I get with my budget?
Also I am from Lithuania so I mainly use this site for my shopping : https://www.kainos.lt/

All help on the subject is appreciated, thank you!

Solution
Get sata 2.5" SSD. Samsung 860 evo, Crucial MX500 - both are fine choices.
Benefit of NVME over SATA SSD is not that impressive as SSD over HDD.
