Trying to set SSD up as boot drive with existing HDD for storage.
When I try to set boot priorities the SSD comes up as P3 and the HDD as UEFI.

When I boot off SSD it says install proper boot media.

Wondering how I can fix this.

all sata connecters have a name between 0 and til how many you have like 5 as example ( total of 6 sata slots )

so, if you have you HDD connected to sata-0, it is an no brainer to add the SSD to sata-1.

and as Skynet explains, you need to format the SDD first to be able to make it bootable.

oh okay, my bad xD

learned something new today :D

SATA ports are enumerated. Not a problem. They all work the same. The problem is that the new drive is not UEFI aware or it would be identified and available as is the HDD. Like skynet says, the issue may be the partition style. So you can try disconnecting the HDD, installing windows on the new drive and letting the install process deal with the drive. The first sign of success is that the USB will show as UEFI or Windows Boot Manager.
