Restarting constantly - can PSUs go bad?

Hi All,

So I've decided to build my own budget minded game rig, and chose an AMD build:

CPU: AMD RYZEN 3 2200G
MB: ASUS PRIME B450M-A/CSM
RAM: Team T-Force Vulcan 16GB DDR4 3000
SSD: Crucial MX500 M.2 2280 250GB
PSU: Corsair TX650W
Windows 10 Pro

Clean installed Windows, updated BIOS.
Computer is restarting randomly without any error messages and sometimes powers down completely.
CPU is running around 40-45C. Switched RAM sticks around, and in single and double config.
After reading this forum looked at Windows error log and did see some Kernel 41 errors, but not all of them are.

I pulled Corsair TX650W from my old computer and it had NO ISSUES whatsoever. Granted, it's and older PSU, but could it not have issues with older build, but not work on the new system?

Wow, that's a very good motherboard for a CPU like that. You could have saved some $ here and went for a beefier CPU. But good choice though.

That PSU of your is definitely overkill for a build like this. You saying that it came from an older rig (meaning "weaker" build I would assume) means that it was even more of an overkill before. So despite your issues you're having, which would usually indicate a PSU failure, I highly doubt it. This PSU should still be in great condition. It's one of Corsair's higher end models, even if it's only Bronze certified it carries a 5-year warranty period.

Have you tried clearing your CMOS?

CPU temps are normal BTW.

Thank you for your reply! I decided to buy EVGA SuperNova 550 G3 to give a try with a new PSU.
Also cleared CMOS just as you suggested.
And viola! no restarts so far. Knock on wood.
