I have a wd Black, 6TB.

It shows up in BIOS, but not disk management

I currently have 3 other functional drives plugged in all functioning.

I've done a fair bit of googling and tried a few things that haven't helped... (The ones I can remember trying - Updating BIOS, Hard reboot, plugging it in different SATA ports, running WDs data lifeguard program)

Disk Management - https://ibb.co/cr5Y3e

Is this what you want to see for storage spaces? The hard drive doesn't show up here either https://ibb.co/extE9K

Tried a different SATA port, but no luck.

The website lists the SSD as M.2, but the BIOS lists it as plugged in SATA3_0. SATA3_5 has always had a drive connected to it, and always worked without any problems.

See picture for configuration -

It's not in device manager. And I have plugged it into a port that definitely works and still the same issue :(

I really hope the drive isn't defective as I bought it back in July but (because blah blah reasons) only sorting it out now, so it's past the return window

How do I check if it's a power issue? It does have higher power consumption than my other drives, so could it be that I need a higher powered PSU?

seems I only have the option to disable all SATA ports in BIOS. is there another way to do it?

I disconnected both the other drives, but no luck. Still not appearing in disk management etc.

Starting to think it's either incompatible or a duff drive... but wanna know for sure before I pay the £££ again!

Thanks for all the responses everyone! Returning to WD for a replacement, and if that doesn't work then now I know a bunch of things to try. Thanks again :)
