Today I got up to an error on my PC it had a memory problem so I ran windows diagnostic and at first I had both slots and it gave me a hardware problem was detected then after than I took one slot of ram off and ran the test and it passed . Then I got the other ram and put it in the same spot as the other one testing one at a time and I found out that it had failed ran the test 4 times and came out one of them had failed Everytime . Was wondering how good is G.skill in warranty of it has any ? Thank you !

For a fail, it's pretty reliable, yes. I wouldn't necessarily trust it outright for "pass" results though.

MemTest would be the preferred diagnostic tool.

A friend of mine was upgrading to a DDR4 platform, and was going to give me his DDR3 RAM.

It was G.Skill, a matched pair.

When he tested it out before giving it to me, we found one module was bad. He filed an RMA. Since they were sold as a matched pair that was sold as a single package, and the part number reflected this, he sent the pair back. It wasn't entirely clear from the instructions on the website, but he decided better safe than sorry.

They sent a new matched pair.

I would say return both. Kind of logically makes sense, because if you returned only one and they replaced just that one, it would no longer be a guaranteed matched pair, I believe.
