Question About Cooling

So I will be buying an EVGA 1070 FTW2 in the next few weeks, not sure when. But probably before the new tariffs affect GPU prices to a noticeable extent (not sure if this will ACTUALLY affect the card i want, just going by what Gamer's Nexus said yesterday).

So I was wondering if there would be any cooling issues with the 1070 I want in the Corsair Spec-04 with only the stock fan.

I would also like to know where the best place to put the stock fan would be at. I did some research and it is looking like it is best to put it on the rear of the case.

Thanks

Yeah it would be best to put it on the rear of the case, however, it would be very beneficial to the setup to put another one up front. If you had the two you would definitely be fine. Even with the one you should be, but i wouldn't risk getting worse performance out of your new gpu because you didn't pick up another 20 dollar fan to go with it.

I have run a 1060 inside of that case on 1 fan and it got pretty toasty so be wary with only the one.

If you want a cheap rgb fan to go along with it check out coolermaster's new line of rgb fans, they are cheap and can come in any type of flow.

Absolutely agree with Chaos but I would go further if you can...and add 2 x 120mm fans bringing air in from the front and the one you have on the back exhausting air out. 120mm fans can be bought very cheap now and you can run them at a lower speed but with 2 it just adds more airflow over the GPU and CPU..

I was going to save up for the Corsair ML120 RGB fans so I could sync them up with the RGB fans that I want in the Corsair 460X case I eventually plan on buying.

Though the price for the fans you mentioned are super cheap, I'm not quite sure about their performance.

Although, getting the Cooler Master fans, I now have a excuse to get a different case and try to get everything synced up in Aura. But to be honest, the best case I have been able to find so far was the 460X which is a mighty fine case if I may say so myself.

I'll think about the Cooler Master fans.

I have the ML120's from Corsair and can only sing there praises as they are near silent and drive a lot of airflow..

I'm probably going to stick with the ML120 fans, I just found out that you need to have an Asus board to use Aura... That stinks. But it will end up being easier to buy the 460X and the ML120 3 pack. Thanks for everyone's help.
