My mobo is an Asus z97-ws and I'm using Corsair Dominator Platnium RAM. I was wondering if you guys could help pick out a cpu cooler for the build. The motherboard is LGA 1150 and I noticed that the Cooler Master Hyper Evo 212 says that It can be used on the 1150 chipsets. But, the real question is, will it fit on the mobo?

Solution
Any modern cooler will fit lga1155 - lga1151, unless specifically designed for 2011/2066/TR4 etc. So that's not the issue. You have only 3 concerns.
1. Case. The hyper212 is 160mm. If the clearance for a cooler from motherboard to case side is less than 160mm, the hyper212 will not work.
2. Ram. Dominators are tall ram, but most times coolers don't affect ram in slots #2/#4, but will affect ram in #1/#3. Some of the larger coolers require low height ram or simply don't fit.
3. Temps. Assuming from a Z97 mobo that you have a K cpu, if it's the i5 4670k/4690k, the hyper212 will be ok with some decent OC. If it's the i7-4770k/4790k expect low-middling OC. The hyper212 is a 140w budget cooler, don't expect miricles from cpus that'll top...
