Hi guys! Will the Rx570 keep up with current and future games or should I wait and save more for RX580/GTX1060?

I'm on a tight budget here and building a gaming pc from scratch. My target is to play on 1080p 60fps games.

For 1080p 60fps on lower than ultra settings for AAA games the 570 is a great card. The 580 or 1060 will run ultra or very high at 60fps plus and the 570 will do more like high or medium, non AAA games will have no issues.

If you are saving around 40$ or more I think it's worth it. Paying like 170$ for a 570 vs 230 for a 580.. of course depends on your future plans. I upgrade my gpu every couple years. It all depends on how much you want those little settings. Having a smoother shadow or better light worth it? To me it's not, but that's just me. I think high settings look just fine. Unless your taking screenshots and side by side comparison you honestly can't spot the difference much between high and ultra in most games.

Your gpu will be bottleneck with whatever you get.. why not save the money get a 570 and then in 12 to 18 months buy the newest model. Just look at how much each gpu went up in performance vs the last one over last 4 years.

R9 270x 200$ vs RX 480/580 200-230$ (before inflation) 270x is basically like the current rx460/560. Think the 560 outperforms it actually. This was a 1 generation jump, now 480 to 580 is basically no gain, but the next jump will be huge.

Nvidia gtx760 retail 220$ vs 950 160$, the 950 outperforms the 760 in most games and cost less. The 960 was 200$ and performed like a 330$ 770. The 1050/to retailed around 120/150-160$ outperforms a 960 and the 1060 for 200-250 outperforms the 970 at 350$.

Based on these patterns I would assume something big is coming, just have to hope prices settle and they are starting to. Last 2 generations only went on for exactly 2 years, dead on 24 months and the 1000 series have been over 30 months now. Waiting does assume prices even out so there is a risk there if they don't.

The RX 570 should keep up with modern games at 1080p however some games that use a lot of graphical power may needed to be turned down to medium or high settings. However, it should keep up with most games. The RX 580 can push to 1440p on most game and also at very high or ultra detail.

Cheers,

Both card will do job, and give you great experience. You wont regret buying any of these two. Now, it is up to you to decide if you are willing to save 40$ and sacrifice graphic settings. Most games today are pretty at medium++ graphic.
