Okay, I think you might get good performance increase from the i5-3470.

Take a look at these, comparing the i7-870 (similar to your i7-880) to the G4560, the G4560 is considerably faster.

Then, comparing the G4560 to the i5-3470, the 3470 is very similar and even faster sometimes than the G4560.

So, for the trade + $30 that might be a good deal for a quick increase in performance.

*You will have to reinstall Windows when you install the new motherboard; it may work without but always reinstall Windows because you might get bad performance due to previous chipset drivers in Windows.
You would have to replace the motherboard as well. If you could give some more details about how you would come to obtain the i5. Are you buying it and a motherboard? For how much? What are you other options? The i5-3470 may be a little faster, but it may not be the best option to spend your money on.

Ok i have an intel dp55wb that cant have better than the i7 880 that i have so i have searched and found a motherboard with an i5 3470 that someone need to sell them together for 150$ what you say and thank you i have ddr3 ram 16gb and the new mobo is ddr3 and i have 1070 gtx and 2 tb hard disk and 600w psu silverstone

For $150 it would have to be an excellent, high quality motherboard, otherwise that is too much for such old components. Old motherboards go bad easily.

Are you in the US or elsewhere? Can you shop eBay? I would at least try to find a 4th-gen i5 and motherboard.
