Ok I have a bit of an issue. I currently have a gtx 1070 paired with a ryzen 5 1600 oc'd to 3.9ghz. I want to upgrade my cpu as I now have a 1080p 144hz monitor. I play mostly gta 5, fortnite, csgo, rainbow, and plan to play bo4 and rdr 2 when they come out. My current cpu is very good but struggles to output that 165hz as it bottlenecks my gpu. I was wanting to upgrade and already have an x370. Is it worth completely switching platforms for an i5 8600k at 5ghz or will on oc'd 2700x do the trick. I stream about twice a week as well. Thanks for any replies!

I think you can get more out of your existing platform. Have you made sure you're on the latest BIOS update for your motherboard? Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling your GPU drivers with the latest from Nvidia's site? Also see what the system resource usages are in Task Manager when system is idle.

If you stream and game simultaneously from that one platform, you will benefit from upping the processor to a Ryzen 7.

Thanks for the reply. I already have done the following. There is nothing wrong with my current platform but I want to get more out of my 1070. That 1600 is a great chip and performs well bet can bottleneck the 1070 in certain games, especially in csgo.
