I am planning on adding a 970 pro nvme ssd to my threadripper machine. How ever I seem to have run out of m.2 slots. But I have plenty of pci-e slots!

So I was thinking if there a converter that would let me get the speed of the 970pro out??

You could drop in into an adapter but then it'll bring up the matter about which lanes/slots are being shared and if you have ample lanes for adding another NVMe drive. You forgot to state the most critical fact, that, your full system's specs. List them like so:
CPU:
Motherboard:
Ram:
SSD/HDD:
GPU:
PSU:
Chassis:
OS:

What you're looking for is known as a PCIex4 riser card for M.2 NVMe drives.
