Hi i plan to upgrade my pc. My goal is to play new games like bf 5 and esport games at 120 + fps at 1080p.
Gpu - 1070 msi aero oc
Cpu- i5 8400
Ram - 2666c16r mhz 2x8 gb
Motherboard- asus z370 plus
Psu- chieftec 700w
Monitor- dell aw2518h - 240hz
I plan to buy 1080ti and i7 8700k . Is ti upgrade a overkill?

So a 8700K wont help you much at all for gaming, the 8400 will handle pretty much any thing you throw at it. As far as 1080ti it may be alittle overkill for 1080P gaming, but if you can get a good deal on one go for it. The one change I would make, is BUY A BETTER Power Supply. Chieftec are junk, and in a gaming PC PSU matter. Something like a Seasonic FOCUS Gold 550 to 650 Watt would be enough.

Will change psu for sure. For 240 hz 1080p gaming wich is more important cpu or gpu? While playing bf 1 on almost ultra dx 11 i could hit 90 fps max with this rig ... And i dont feel happy abouth it seen people with same rig get more fps. I am not restricted with budget soo i want to max out all i can get from 1080p gaming .

There is nothing in your system that needs to be changed for 1080 resolution. Aside from the power supply that was already mentioned. Going up a level in the same generation is a bit silly, I'd wait at least till next gen CPU and video cards, probably after the current 20xx models.
