Earlier yesterday out of nowhere all my games started to take up 80% of my GPU when normally only 40ish% gets used. The games im trying to run aren't even intense games such as rocket league and WOW
I have a i7-7700k
MSI geforce gtx 1070 gaming z 8gb
16GB of ddr4 3200

I have tried updating to 411 then downgrading down to 391 which is what msi has on their site then i updated it all the way to 416 which came out today.
I just tried to downgrade again but now it is saying my windows isn't compatible with the old version.
Even a game that isn't intense at all like farm together is using 80% of my GPU.

Update: Just completely wiped my PC and still not working properly.

Does this happen only while gaming or are you experiencing high usage when idle as well (over 0-5% on idle).

Usuly this can be due to malware. Most common are those bitcoin/cryptocurrency malwares where people use your GPU to mine. They can even set it so it only activates whilst gaming so some people wouldn't notice.

Get AVG Free and/or MalwareBytes amd run a scan

My reasoning still stands. Let's hope it's just a simple malware. I'd suggest running a scan and we'll take it form there.

Also worth checking if your monitoring program has an update. Sometimes this can cause faulty readings. Or try a new one (CPU-Z, MSI Afterburner, NZXT CAM, HWMonitor)

Ive been using my task manager also i did the virus check and it came back clean. Also when i play overwatch it uses less than 10% of my GPU but other games like rocket league and WOW take up like 80%

That's really weird. Overwatch's usage is too low and WoW/Rocket League to high.

Are you currently OC-ing this CPU? I would suggest resetting the CPU to stock speeds and voltage, as well as your motherboard (by clearing CMOS).

Sometimes resetting everything to default and resetting back to desired configs will fix it.

I've exhaust what I can suggest up to this point. I don't know what else to do apart from reinstalling the games, and windows as well. However, that might be a pain in the arse. I hope someone else can come along and provide with further testing options.
