Hello guys. I just bought MSI Armor Rx 580 from my cousin a few days back. After the benchmarks, I saw that 1070 beats Rx 580 significantly in almost all games.

Now I'm looking forward to trading it with a 1070 for an extra $80 ... Yes, prices in my country are different from rest of the world.

So do you guys think I should upgrade it or keep the 580? What would you suggest? (Not looking forward to buying the expensive cards like 2070 or 2080) :)

Kind regards.

I'll upgrade to an i5 8400 in a few days from i3 8100, since the i5 wasn't available at that time and I was offered an exchange.

I had to change setting of a few games from ultra to high and I didn't like it.

Do you think the processor upgrade will balance things up?

Definitely, the 8400 & 1070 is a good combo.

For 1080p gaming? Unless there's a specific game where the RX 570 struggles, or you're planning on pairing it with a 144Hz monitor, you may not actually get as much improvement as you want.

$80 difference seems like a good deal, though (typical difference in the US is ~$167USD, or twice that)...which almost seems too good to be true. Is it a brand-new 1070, or a used one? If used, can you test it first before trading?

It is a used one. Zotac Amp Extreme. Yes I can stress test and take a personal warranty from that person for a few days as well.

Apart from that, can you please tell me that whether my performance will improve if I upgrade from i3 8100 to i5 8400 with the same Rx 580?

Because that's the upgrade that I'll first make, before changing the GPU.

Will there be any difference in the upgrade from 8100 to 8400 keeping the same gpu?

Depends on the game but the increased cores and turbo boost to 4.0ghz could have a significant impact.

I would only change the cpu if you are paying 0$ for it or very little, it's just minimal gains for the most part. It's not bad if you aren't really paying anything.

As far as the gpu goes, yes spend 80$ and get a 1070, it's definitely worth it. If you were spending 100$+ I would just wait for the next series of gpu to come out and get that with the saved money and sell the current one, making up 200$ towards the next one. 80$ is a solid deal though.

you don't see much difference with the 580 whether you have the i3 / i5 or an i7 8700k
