I am trying to setup a shared drive but every time i try to access the drive Windows 10 says You don't have permission to access network share when trying to access shared drive . I tried everything and it keeps showing the same error. Does anyone know of something that might help?

so the error tells you exactly what the problem is.

You don't have permission to access the share!.

So back to basics.

Where is this share coming from? How is it shared?
On the server side (where the share has been set up) there are permissions as to who (user or computer) can access the share.

Please can you provide more detail on how you are sharing and then how you are viewing.

i am using a ethernet cable to connect my computer to a different pc so i could transfer files easily. i changed every setting that would prevent me from accessing it but it still keeps showing the same issue.
